Commons Signs Brake Pads Need Replacing

  • Screeching: this means the brake pad indicator is meeting the surface of the brake disc, which could be a worn brake pad or because something is stuck between the two parts.
  • Scraping: similar to above, but where the pad might be completely worn away. This will seriously compromise your ability to brake so get this checked out immediately.
  • Vibrating steering wheel: if the brake pad is excessively worn, you may feel a vibration through the steering wheel.
  • Longer braking time: this could indicate a number of problems with your braking system, including worn pads.

    I recently visited Cardoc Garage with my Jaguar XE for an MOT test and to get a couple of things checked that I was concerned about.During the MOT, they found that one of the shock absorbers was leaking and immediately ordered the replacement to fix it. The whole process was very smooth and efficient. Mahesh was extremely friendly, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly.What I really appreciated was their honesty. I had a few concerns about other potential issues with the car, but they reassured me that everything else was fine. Many garages could have easily taken advantage of that and charged for unnecessary work, but they didnā€™t.The work was completed quickly and to a very high standard, and they even did a few complimentary services for my vehicle.Top-quality service, friendly people, and honest advice. This will definitely be my go-to garage from now on. Highly recommended!

    I have bought an eight-year old Mazda and want to maintain the Mazda digital service record. However, the Mazda dealerships are inconveniently situated on the extremities of London and expensive. Cardoc offers a compromise in cost, between Mazda dealer charges and smaller backstreet garages. They maintain the digital service record, are very organised, and seem to have highly trained technicians well versed in the complexities of modern cars. One of their mechanics took the time to explain the electronic subsystems in my Mazda. They also advised me of a couple of future problems, but did not attempt to bump me into immediate expenditure. Cardoc are a friendly, highly competent team and I recommend them.

    When you need a reliable garage - this is the place. I had another local garage mess up my vans wheel alignment then Halfords made it 10x worse. Cardoc not only corrected it but cleared all the dashboard warning lights and re-calibrated the wheel sensors. Trustworthy, knowledgeable and efficient. Can't ask for more. Thanks Cardoc! :)
